Great experience! Dr Whitlock and his staff were very kind and accommodating throughout my Invisalign process. The scanning process is super easy. I was very happy with the results with the appearance of my teeth and the way it has help me sleep better with the positioning of my teeth where my tongue has more resting room. I am 53 and I was never advised that I needed braces. My teeth were pretty straight. A couple years ago my dentist said that as we age our teeth will continue to crowd inward. Which could be a problem. So I got a consultation with Dr. Whitlock. Great decision!!

Can I swallow when the gel is on my teeth?
Yes! You can swallow just like normal when the gel is on your teeth. The whitening gel is designed to stay right where we put it until it evaporates and dissolves.
Can I use ILLUME while in orthodontic treatment?
It depends on your treatment plan. With ILLUME, you can absolutely whiten your smile during Smile Express® or Invisalign® treatment. It is a great complement to a bright, straight smile. However, we don't recommend whitening treatment while you have braces. If you have braces, we suggest waiting until you get them off, when it's a great follow-up for a straight, white smile!
Will this work on crowns or veneers?
ILLUME will safely lift stains and return any synthetic tooth surfaces to their original shade.
What if my teeth are usually sensitive to whitening?
We hear this question a lot. Fortunately, ILLUME whitening gel is specially formulated to be sensitivity-free. It is free of alcohol and carbamide peroxide. Plus, it is designed to stay put on your teeth, off of your gums. Every once in a while a patient experiences a little sensitivity, but most of the time, even patients who normally have some "zingers" don't experience any problems with ILLUME.
